In summer 2021, we contributed to delivering the FIM’s 2021-2025 sustainability strategy document, ‘The Future in Pole Position’. A year later, we were asked to produce its inaugural sustainability report, highlighting early strides towards its strategic goals.
For over 30 years, the FIM had an environmental programme; however, as motor racing isn’t always perceived as the most sustainable sport, crafting the tone and content for this debut report required robust planning and collaboration with numerous stakeholders to ensure accuracy, engagement and transparency.

To alter perceptions, the report’s focus centred on tangible actions taken by the FIM to enhance sustainability across its organisation and influence the broader motorcycling industry. This included impactful case studies on investments in sustainable fuels and e-mobility, advancements in rider safety through improved equipment like helmets and the coordination of multiple stakeholders, including circuits and promoters, around core sustainability principles.
We brought the report to life with human stories, featuring experiences from FIM Environmental Stewards, who ensure compliance with guidelines at tracks and events, and women empowered by the FIM’s #BreakingTheBias campaign to take up motorcycling.
