Recognising the winter sport’s vulnerability due to the climate crisis, biathlon faces significant threats with its reliance on snow. The federation has responded with a robust, ambitious sustainability strategy, including net zero roadmap.
To achieve its targets, the IBU relies on collaboration with various actors within the biathlon ecosystem, encouraging partners and suppliers to adapt their operations. Our role in this project was to facilitate a workshop, fostering common ground, exploring innovative ideas and setting a course for effective collaboration – a crucial step in addressing sport’s challenges.

We believe effective workshops should be both enjoyable and empowering, giving participants agency within defined parameters and activities.
With a focus on collaboration, our workshop design included two main group exercises involving various actors from the biathlon ecosystem. The first activity centred on sustainability challenges, seeking common ground among participants. The second half concentrated on identifying collaborative solutions to address these challenges collectively. By encouraging open dialogue in a safe environment, we delved beyond the surface to uncover and address deep-rooted issues.
